No problem! I’m more than happy to create a custom session that fits your needs.
HOW MUCH IS DUE AT BOOKING?
After you communicate to me which session you would like to purchase, you will receive a booking link via text or email. A non-refundable retainer of $75 is required to secure all sessions, unless otherwise noted, with balance due prior to your session & payable by cash, credit card, or Venmo. I will do my best to accommodate any session date/time changes, however this may not always be possible. Some add-on selections may be billed separately, after the session, and will be due prior to delivery of edited images or products.
What ARE SOME location OPTIONS for my session?
There are several great options to choose from in the area. The studio, located in East Palestine, Ohio, has multiple themed set ups ready to go, as well as solid color backdrops, props, furniture & accessories. The outdoor area around the studio has a few hidden gems tucked away & counts as one location when combined with the studio. An area park is perfect for summer & fall sessions, such as Beaver Creek State Park, East Palestine City Park, Firestone Park, Hippley Gardens, Mill Creek MetroParks & New Waterford Village Park. Local farms, sunflower fields & wheat fields all make a wonderful setting for couple, family & senior sessions. Keep in mind, fall leaves, sunflower fields & wheat fields are time sensitive with limited availability. High schools, football stadiums, soccer/baseball fields, and basketball/tennis/volleyball courts are popular choices for seniors. Other interesting locations include Whispering Pines Castle, greenhouses, nurseries, coffee shops, pubs, breweries, golf courses & TownCenter at Firestone Farms, just to name a few. Some locations may charge a fee or require approval prior to your session. Do you already have a location in mind? Let’s hear it, I’m open to any suggestions you may have.
DO ADDITIONAL LOCATION ADD-ONS NEED TO BE SCHEDULED FOR THE SAME DAY?
No, additional locations do not have to be photographed the same day. I’m happy to work around your schedule as much as possible. Be sure to communicate your needs prior to the day of your session. Additional locations should be within a reasonable distance from the studio or first location.
What should I wear to my session?
For most sessions I would suggest wearing something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Choose an outfit that reflects your personality and style. Avoid wearing anything too busy or distracting, as this can take the focus off you. Solid colors tend to look best in photos, but you can add some texture with stripes or plaid patterns. For sessions with more than one individual, it’s best to coordinate your outfits and choose colors that complement each other, as well as the setting. For birthday sessions of all ages, clients typically like to wear something fancy, bold and fun, such as a tulle skirt, sparkles, a suit, etc. No matter which clothing option you choose, be sure they are wrinkle and lint free, as this tends to be very noticeable in photos.
What time of day should I schedule my outdoor session?
If you are flexible on time of day, the best lighting for outdoor photos happens one to two hours after sunrise, one to two hours before sunset, or any time of day with overcast. When the sun is directly overhead it can cause harsh, unflattering lighting. If you do have to schedule your outdoor session during the middle of the day, I will do my best to keep the lighting as favorable as possible, both in camera and during editing.
Do you photograph pets?
Yes, well behaved pets are welcomed inside the studio and any other location where pets are permitted. There is a charge when adding a pet to a session, unless otherwise noted.
What should I expect during my session?
No other photography will be permitted during a photo session. If you have specific poses or ideas in mind, don’t hesitate to speak up! Otherwise, I will just go with what feels right. My style is fun and energetic, and I enjoy capturing the unique personalities of my clients. Sure, we’ll get some posed smiles, but don’t be surprised if you hear me give some off-the-wall directives. It’s a technique I like to use to capture sincere reactions.
CAN I BRING MY OWN PROPS TO USE IN MY SESSION?
Absolutely! I will do my best to incorporate anything you may want to use in photos. Do you have a passion for motorcycles, fishing, reading, painting, dancing or music? Let’s highlight what you love! Seniors, don’t forget your varsity jacket & sports equipment! Feel free to bring a favorite toy or stuffed animal to make your small child feel more comfortable during the session. I do offer a smash cake add on, but you are welcomed to bring your own.
How are photos edited?
My editing style is best described as a natural, clean, true-to-color. Photos may be edited differently depending on the situation, environment, or preference of the client. For example, photos taken in the fall months may have a warmer appearance. You may also choose to have photos edited in a “dark & moody” or “light & airy” style, but keep in mind some editing styles work best with specific settings or clothing colors/styles. If you have a specific preference on editing, please discuss this with me prior to your session. I include minor touch ups in my edit, such as removing blemishes, skin retouching, & teeth whitening at no additional cost. These services are not required. If you prefer not to include any or all of these, please communicate prior to the start of the editing process. There may be an additional charge for extensive editing or skin retouching.
How long does it take to get my photos back & how do I order prints?
Completion time is dependent on the number of images to be edited. Typically, images are completed and delivered within 7 days of selecting your favorites. All sessions include a link to an online gallery where unedited images can be viewed and selections for final images can be made. Final edited images may be downloaded for sharing on social media. Web-sized downloads are not suitable for printing. A small logo will remain in the corner of downloaded images and will not interfere with details of the image. No logo will appear on printed products. Print products may be purchased through the online store linked to your gallery, and printed by a professional photo lab. Any offer for product credit applies to orders placed at Eighth & Moon Photography online store only, with a limit of one-time use, tax applies to physical products.
